The Advanced Course began with a terrific, easy to understand introduction to homeopathy. Even if you have not had any homeopathy training before, what you get in the three years provides a solid basis to begin practicing homeopathy.

Even in the first classes, we had real live cases to solve. It was the hands-on experience with actual cases that I enjoyed the most. This is an excellent approach to adult learning and the best way to learn the remedies. I especially benefited from the video cases.

I am in the third year of the CHI Advanced Prescriber’s Course.

Mastering homeopathy is no small task and there are dangers along the route. One can easily get lost in the immense amount of detailed information or fixated on certain approaches.

Shahram Ayoubzadeh, ND and his colleague Julek Meissner, ND bring a special clarity and focus to the teaching of homeopathy. They are well grounded in the Hahnemanian classical approach and guide us safely through the shoals and reefs of that hamper the homeopathic student. Despite their extensive experience both Shahram and Julek are extremely approachable, open minded and not attached to positions from an ego perspective.

Prior to CHI, I had the good fortune to be exposed to a number of master homeopaths from different schools of homeopathic thought. Some, while brilliant, are fixated on their own theories and techniques. Now, here in Ottawa, I have the opportunity to benefit from teachers who are extremely open minded, continually learning from world-class homeopathic teachers and bringing these insights back to us.

The CHI approach is focused on case taking and case management. The classes are extremely interesting and interactive with video cases presented for analysis.

I have found the three years to be a journey of self-discovery. I have had to learn to get in touch with my intuitive self. I have also formed deep and lasting friendships with my classmates and the teachers all of whom have exhibited good humour and a cooperative spirit.

I'm convinced that the course format, with extensive use of video cases is the best way to prepare for practice. Rather than being dry and repetitive, the remedies came alive before our eyes. I have been a student in the Advanced Prescriber's Course in Homeopathy at the Canadian Homeopathic Institute since January 1999. I will be completing the first year of this 3-year program in September 1999. My interest in homeopathy grew from a workshop presented by Shahram Ayoubzadeh that I attended last year In Ottawa. My motivation has been to understand the homeopathic approach in optimizing my health. I am also considering becoming a practitioner in homeopathy and/or naturopathy in the future.

I have been very impressed with the excellence in teaching that Shahram Ayoubzadeh has brought to this course. His training in naturopathy and specialization in homeopathy, his training as a medical doctor, and many years of practice in homeopathy, reveal themselves in the exceptional integrity that he brings to the design and presentation of this program. Dr. Ayoubzadeh and his staff make themselves readily available between seminar weekends, and he provides timely feedback to questions. I appreciate the availability of this course on weekends, since this avoids disrupting my full-time work schedule.

The uniqueness of the Advanced Prescriber's Course is the innovative use of case analysis through the detailed study of video-recorded cases and paper case studies. Learning how to analyse and record a case, how to prescribe, and how to identify constitutional types through the use of case studies, is a very dynamic learning medium in homeopathy instruction. I feel that I'm also able to learn the fundamentals of homeopathy from this approach, even though I do not have any background in this science. This course also makes use of computerized repertories as an important tool for prescribing; but the more traditional use of hard copy repertories is also encouraged.

I feel very fortunate to be able to be a student of homeopathy and to learn this science in the unique and dynamic format that the Advanced Prescriber's Course provides.
